Craig Moore’s English Premier League Week 6 Preview: Manchester City's Crystal Clear Plan To Beat Palace

West Ham v Tottenham | Saturday, September 23, 9.30pm (AEST), London Stadium, London

West Ham have scored just two goals in their last three games but they have the ability to score.

You do worry when your strikers or team in general aren’t scoring enough.

It puts a huge strain on the team to be very good in all areas but that’s easier said than done when confidence is low.

They’ll always have chances at home and that is what can get them out of a hole if things go well.

The Verdict

Tottenham have been at times very good and look as if they're progressing from last season but then have also thrown in a flat one.

They should be able to get back to what we have seen in recent seasons and continue to pile on the pain for West Ham.

Unibet Odds: West Ham 5.25 Draw 4.10 Tottenham 1.60

Tip: Tottenham

Correct score: Tottenham 2-1

Manchester City v Crystal Palace | Sunday, September 24, 12am (AEST), Etihad Stadium, Manchester

Sergio Aguero (pictured above) is like a terrier that fights and works for everything.

He’s in very good form and scoring goals at ease.

What I really like though is even when he isn’t scoring, his contribution to the team always has an impact on himself or his teammates.

Great team player.

The Verdict

City have far too much at this moment in time and will breeze past a Palace outfit searching for form and results.

Unibet Odds: Manchester City 1.14 Draw 8.50 Crystal Palace 19.00

Tip: Manchester City

Correct score: Manchester City 4-0

Southampton v Manchester United | Sunday, September 24, 12am (AEST), St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton

Southampton have usually fared okay against Manchester United.

Different proposition though with United knocking plenty over so far this season, and I do expect pretty much the same thing here.

Antonio Valencia (pictured above) has shown since he joined United, his ability to adapt to new managers and positions.

Great work ethic and always an outlet down the right hand side.

Never really gets the plaudits but very consistent and important for how United want to play.

Has a screamer in his locker as he showed against Everton as well, so big bonus.

The Verdict

United to grind out a win on the road here and keep things honest at the top of the table.

Unibet Odds: Southampton 4.75 Draw 3.70 Manchester United 1.75

Tip: Manchester United

Correct score: Manchester United 3-1

Stoke City v Chelsea | Sunday, September 24, 12am (AEST), Stoke

Stoke are very good at home and just know to ruffle feathers a little with the bigger teams.

That is a strength they’re aware of and travelling teams need to either catch them on a bad day or fight for anything they get.

Potential banana skin game for Chelsea.

Suspended David Luiz will be missed but it was a terrible tackle that could have easily ended up with a broken leg.

He travelled with the ball, got caught in a fight then lunged recklessly.

His likely replacement is Andreas Christensen (pictured below) and he may have a chance to play mid-week in the cup to bring his game to the level for Stoke.

The Verdict

Chelsea will be looking to stamp their class on this, but Stoke like any good team respect opponents but don’t fear them.

They can make this hard and notch up a third straight draw here.

Unibet Odds: Stoke City 5.75 Draw 4.00 Chelsea 1.60

Tip: Draw

Correct score: 1-1

Leicester City v Liverpool | Sunday, September 24, 2.30am (AEST), King Power Stadium, Leicester

EPL great Alan Shearer has been critical of Liverpool’s defence and he rarely gets it wrong as he sees the game very well.

Liverpool don’t defend well enough and they lack leadership at the back and someone willing to take control.

When you have a defence with no leaders, then you’ll be a soft touch at times when teams bombard your box.

Liverpool still struggle with this if they haven’t put a stamp on a game and dominated.

KEY BATTLE: Jamie Vardy v Joel Matip/Ragnar Klavan

People are asking more of Liverpool defenders and once again they’ll be tested here with Vardy (pictured above).

He’s doing well this season and makes life hard for central defenders.

He can worry these two guys out of this game.

The Verdict

I’ll be brave and go with Leicester here.

Liverpool can be fantastic but it must all fall into place for them.

Better team on paper but are they willing to mix it and fight out a win?

They may well do but I’m not confident, so will side with Leicester getting something here.

Unibet Odds: Leicester City 3.80 Draw 3.60 Liverpool 1.92

Tip: Leicester City

Correct score: Leicester City 2-1

Arsenal v West Brom | Tuesday, September 26, 5am (AEST), Emirates Stadium, London

The Gunners’ structure and discipline was a lot better against Chelsea and I’ll be happy for Arsenal and their fans if they can roll that out week in, week out.

They still have a bit to prove this season but at home and off the back of good performances, they can keep people happy for a week.

The Verdict

Arsenal to have too much time with the ball and you would like to think they'll create enough to be winning this game easy enough.

Unibet Odd: Arsenal 1.33 Draw 5.00 West Brom 9.50

Tip: Arsenal

Correct score: Arsenal 2-0
