Craig Moore’s English Premier League Week 7 Preview: Undermanned Red Devils To Test Liverpool At Anfield

Liverpool v Manchester United |Saturday, October 14, 10.30pm (AEDT), Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool and Manchester United certainly love to hate each other, that’s for sure.

This is normally a game that Liverpool easily get up for but Utd have been in the habit of picking up points so far this season.

I expect Liverpool to line up as they have this season and they’ll need to measure up.

Going forward never seems to be a problem but being rock solid at the back and limiting opportunities again this season has been an issue.

KEY BATTLE: Dejan Lovren v Romelu Lukaku

I predicted Lukaku (pictured above) would be in the goals this year and finish on top.

He has started well and his physical presence and power can be too much in this battle with Lovren.

The Verdict

I think an understrength Man Utd can go and get the job here and I’ll know that Liverpool supporters won't like to hear this.

Of course they can go and win at home, I just haven't been confident enough given their inconsistency once again this season.

Unibet Odds: Liverpool 2.80 Draw 3.30 Manchester United 2.75

Tip: Manchester United

Correct score: Manchester United 2-0

Crystal Palace v Chelsea | Sunday, October 15, 1am (AEDT), Selhurst Park, London

Some people are saying Chelsea have a great desire for success in Europe than in the EPL, but I don’t believe this is the case.

Chelsea have a team of winners and at that level and with the squad they have, the mindset is to go out and deliver in every game.

The Verdict

Palace are having a disaster which hurts me to say being a former club of mine.

Chelsea have them covered in this although Palace will work extremely hard.

Need a win to give them a glimmer of hope but don't see it coming here.

Unibet Odds: Crystal Palace 9.00 Draw 4.75 Chelsea 1.38

Tip: Chelsea

Correct score: Chelsea 2-0

Manchester City v Stoke | Sunday, October 15, 1am (AEDT), Etihad Stadium, Manchester

City might be a lot of people’s favourite to win the title but it’s still very early for title talk.

But as I’ve said before, I think it’s between the two clubs in Manchester.

City have improved from last season at both ends and have been very impressive so far.

The Verdict

Manchester City at home here will dominate and create enough chances to win this game.

Stoke make you work for everything but goals change games and City have plenty in them.

Unibet Odds: Manchester City 1.13 Draw 9.30 Stoke 21.00

Tip: Manchester City

Correct score: Manchester City 3-1

Tottenham v Bournemouth | Sunday, October 15, 1am (AEDT), Wembley Stadium

I’ve been very impressed with Harry Winks (pictured above).

For a 21-year-old, he has added some steel and energy in the middle of the park which we know is so important these days.

A call up for the senior squad also shows that there is an opinion of the kid.

The Verdict

Harry Kane (pictured above) playing the way he is just gives such confidence to the team and I think this is just back to business for Tottenham after the international break.

Unibet Odds: Tottenham 1.21 Draw 7.95 Bournemouth 13.75

Tip: Tottenham

Correct score: Tottenham 3-0

Watford v Arsenal | Sunday, October 15, 3.30am (AEDT), Vicarage Road, Arsenal

The Gunners losing Shkodran Mustafi (pictured above) to injury is a blow as while he’s a no frills type of player, he does get the job done.

This will be a test for Arsenal as it can be a game they slip up in.

The Verdict

Watford have been decent and apart from a tonking from Manchester City, games have been competitive and close.

They’re a strong team without the big stars and I’m tempted by them here but will gamble on the quality of Arsenal to get home in a tight game.

Unibet Odds: Watford 5.20 Draw 4.30 Arsenal 1.67

Tip: Arsenal

Correct score: Arsenal 2-1
