So the Hawks, Swans and North are all winless after three rounds, while the Suns and Freo, who last week I said were the equivalent of under 18’s witches’ hats, both won.
God I hate footy tipping.
This time last year North were 3/3, Sydney and Hawthorn both 2/3. Now they're a combined 0 from 9. Bold prediction - none of these teams will have a win by round 5!
Hawthorn have the Cats and West Coast, Sydney have West Coast and the Giants while North play the Bulldogs, then head west to take on Fremantle. That is probably the best chance of a win from all six games.
It only seems like yesterday that Mick Malthouse was saying how boring it was that Hawthorn keep winning everything.
Not anymore Mick. No team that has gone 0/3 has ever made it into the GF. That should make you smile Mick.
Wasn’t it good to see a champ return to the form we all know he has got?
Gary Ablett Jr (pictured above) made every so-called expert eat some humble pie with his barnstorming effort against Hawthorn.
Now rack off all you blokes who said he is no good.
Collingwood's effort on Friday night was also reminiscent of their halcyon days, giving Nathan Buckley at least a two-week reprieve from fans and experts.
Bold prediction #2. Adam Treloar (pictured above) wins the Brownlow.
He’s 19.00 now and is on seven votes, granted Danger is probably on nine.
The best game of the weekend gave me more confidence about Port and Adelaide being in the finals than ever.
Port were beaten but lost zero admirers. They toughed it out and the footy was outstanding.
There’s another coach in Ken Hinkley who has seemingly avoided the chop, due to some grand early season form.
Speaking of coaches who were gonna get the chop, Richmond’s Damien Hardwick (pictured above) is now in line to be coach of the bloody year!!
Carlton, Collingwood and West Coast in Perth! Tigers fans are asking to be pinched because they think it’s a dream.
Even Rossy pulled one out on the weekend and managed to get the Dockers to a) get the ball b) kick the ball and c) mark the ball. Something they hadn’t managed to do well since 2015.
So round 3, 2017 will be remembered for the coaches that avoided the heat.. Bucks, Lyon, Rocket and Bolton were all under the pump.
Not anymore folks. They all saluted and promptly gave the finger to everyone one of us.
The only thing that followed the form was Geelong and GWS and even that was harder work than first thought.
God I love footy.
Bold prediction #3. I will get more than 3/9 this weekend. Eagles, Bulldogs, Melb, GWS (just), Carlton, Adelaide, Pies, Richmond, Cats.
