UFC 210 | Sunday, April 9 (AEDT), KeyBank Center, Buffalo, New York
UFC 210 is headlined by a long awaited reunion of two of the most dangerous light heavyweights to step into the Octagon.
The main event features a light heavyweight title fight between current champ Daniel 'DC' Cormier (18-1-0) against number 1 contender Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson (22-5-0).
In a re-match between these two fan favourites, we’ll find out if history will repeat itself.
These two monsters first met at UFC 187 in Las Vegas in a fight many thought belonged to Rumble's hands.
DC did what DC does and out-wrestled and out-worked Johnson until submitting him with a rear naked choke in the second round.
I expect their next clash to be similar with the champ out-working the initially explosive Rumble.
In the spirit of gold, we’re treated with a co-main event that is literally championship calibre.
The return of New York's own and former middleweight champ Chris Weidman (pictured above) will be seeking to keep his stake as one of the best when he faces the deadly Dutch kickboxer Gegard Mousasi.
This is a classic no.4 rank versus no.5 match-up with a twist, no.5 Mousasi is on a four-fight win streak with plans to hand the former champ his third consecutive loss.
In bantamweight action the ladies are set to bring it to Buffalo. Katlyn 'Blonde Fighter' Chookagian (pictured above) (8-1) meets Mexican star Irene Aldana (7-3).
What can we expect from this fight? Although Aldana went a full three rounds in her UFC debut against top bantamweight Leslie Smith, she's well known for wasting no time in finishing her opponents early with all seven of her wins coming in the first round.
However, she’ll be tested against Chookagian as the American has stamina for days and is no stranger to claiming victories via all three rounds.
It’s a great match-up and I'm pretty excited about it.
A fight which definitely shouldn’t be missed is the lightweight action between my American Top Team teammate Will "ill Will" Brooks (pictured above) (18-2) and Charles "do Bronx" Oliveira (21-7).
Aside from being excited to watch my teammate’s return to the Octagon, Brooks is a threat to the 155lbs division and I believe he’ll be a problem for the tenured Brazilian and always entertaining Oliveira.
Also on the main card, welterweights Thiago "Pitbull" Alves (21-11) faces off against Patrick "The Predator" Cote (23-10) (pictured above).
With losses in their last fights, both veterans are hungry for a win here.
