Craig Moore’s English Premier League Week 32 Preview: Palace Taking Aim At Gunners

Tottenham v Watford | Saturday, April 8, 9.30pm (AEDT), White Hart Lane, London

It has been business as usual for Tottenham who keep getting the results to keep them in the hunt.

Not too much has been said, but they look as if they’ll keep Chelsea honest and make them work right through the line.

Watford have had a good season and come off a decent result at home against West Brom.

They are safe, so not sure what type of performance they’ll put in.

Plenty at stake with London derbies but Spurs will have more to play for.

Watford will work hard and test Tottenham if they're sloppy.

KEY BATTLE: Dele Alli v Troy Deeney

Good contest but Alli (pictured above) has really stepped up this season.

Deeney is a very good player for a side that have to work for every inch they get.

Alli at home can influence the game more.

The Verdict

Tottenham win because that is what is needed. Their desire without any real pressure should work in their favor.

Nobody is really expecting Chelsea to lose it from here and Tottenham will play freely.

Unibet Odds: Tottenham 1.27 Draw 6.10 Watford 13.50

Tip: Tottenham

Correct score: Tottenham 2-0

Stoke City v Liverpool | Sunday, April 9, Midnight (AEDT), bet365 Stadium, Stoke

What Liverpool team we’ll see is anyone’s guess. It could possibly be the one, which their supporters don’t like to see.

Stoke are a very difficult team to play at home and this is a real slippery one for Liverpool.

KEY BATTLE: Bruno Martins Indi v Divock Origi

Decent battle this one and I think it will be tight.

Martins Indi (pictured above) can stop Origi from scoring here, so I’ll will give him the win in the battle.

The Verdict

Massive game for Stoke and they need to keep ticking over and getting points.

Finding it hard to split the two on this on, so I’ll go for a draw.

Unibet Odds: Stoke City 4.25 Draw 3.75 Liverpool 1.91

Tip: Draw

Correct score: 1-1

Manchester City v Hull | Sunday, April 9, Midnight (AEDT), Etihad Stadium, Manchester

City have had a strong start to 2017 but they’ve also had a very difficult three weeks with some really tough games.

The one consistent has always been the threat and goals from Aguero (pictured above).

He’s such a great player to have and really leads from the front.

Hull will need to defend out of their skin and be patient in this one.

They’ll be under enormous pressure and they’ll need to be able to take the sting out of the game at times to stop the onslaught. Big challenge and not impossible but a huge task.

KEY BATTLE: Sergio Aguero v Eldin Jakupovic

Obvious battle here, as I expect Hull’s goalkeeper to get a working over.

He’ll need to be at his best but even if he is, the onslaught will be too much and Aguero can score and come out winning this battle.

The Verdict

City to dictate and dominate and see off any energy that Hull bring to the game.

Too much class and possession will have them winning this one comfortably.

Unibet Odds: Manchester City 1.20 Draw 7.75 Hull 16.50

Tip: Melbourne City

Correct score: Melbourne City 3-1

Bournemouth v Chelsea | Sunday, April 9, Midnight (AEDT), Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth

This will be a very good game to watch.

Bournemouth play some good football and have never taken a backward step at home to any team.

Chelsea have bounced back during the week and they just have to keep on winning.

Their challenge is very clear to the championship. Win at all cost.

Chelsea were caught out against Crystal Palace on a day their opponent got it spot on.

Crystal Palace are a team that can produce the one off and they’ve proven that.

Chelsea however, showed their class bouncing back mid-week against City.

Away from home isn’t a problem for Chelsea as they have showed they can win all types of games in many different ways.

KEY BATTLE: Harry Arter v N’Golo Kante

Middle battle that will determine the game.

Arter is very busy and at home, a big influence on his team.

Kante (pictured above) is such a good game breaker and allows his team to get on the front foot and build into a game.

Kante can get Chelsea in good areas and be crucial in this game. He’ll be the main man in the engine room and help Chelsea win here.

The Verdict

Chelsea will win the game, but it'll be a hard fought victory.

Bournemouth will put up an almighty fight here but Chelsea can show their teeth and get the result here.

One game at a time for them and this is another step closer. I think they can get the result.

Unibet Odds: Bournemouth 6.35 Draw 4.25 Chelsea 1.58

Tip: Chelsea

Correct score: Chelsea 2-0

Sunderland v Manchester United | Sunday, April 9, 10.30pm (AEDT), Stadium of Light, Sunderland

Sunderland can employ a tactic to beat Man Utd, but they just need to focus on winning at all costs.

This is now all that Sunderland can draw from. Their position is one that where they don't have confidence. They need brave players who are willing to fight for everything.

If they’re to show any late fight and a chance for all to get behind them and produce a great escape, they need to win now.

Man Utd have dominated their last two games but haven’t created enough clear chances with the amount of pressure they have put on teams.

Decision-making and execution in the final areas need to improve and I think it will.

KEY BATTLE: Sebastian Larsson v Ander Herrera

Both players will be looking at advancing and getting into good areas to assist or score goals.

Different threats from different players but the supporting act Man Utd should sway this the way of Herrera.

The Verdict

Manchester United to win on the road and turn all their possession into some goals this weekend.

Sunderland look a beaten team and the pressure throughout the club has started to hit breaking point. This will surely work against them.

Unibet Odds: Sunderland 10.50 Draw 5.00 Manchester United 1.37

Tip: Manchester United

Correct score: Manchester United 3-1

Crystal Palace v Arsenal | Tuesday, April 11, 5am (AEDT), Selhurst Park, London

Big Sam loves a giant killing every now and then and they got that against Chelsea.

Very clear in the way that he plays. Percentages and areas that are pinpointed, so never an accident.

Not to every person’s liking but he has for many years produced a team that is hard to play against.

Gunners’ draw with City was a point and against a good side, that will always give you confidence.

Backed up with a very good win midweek against West Ham, they’ll be ready for this one.

I have my doubts they can go and do a job here, but if they play like they can, they have every chance.

KEY BATTLE: Christian Benteke v Shkodran Mustafi

Benteke on song is very dangerous and extremely powerful.

Mustafi (pictured above) has settled and done very well and has been reliable for Arsenal.

I’m going to go with the underdog here to reflect also the team I think can come out on top. Benteke the winner.

The Verdict

Very close one, but Palace I think might get the result at home.

They’ll need to be organized and competitive and if they can do that, they can worry Arsenal out of this game and come up trumps.

Unibet Odds: Crystal Palace 4.55 Draw 3.95 Arsenal 1.81

Tip: Crystal Palace

Correct score: Crystal Palace 2-1
